Child Visitation Schedules

The standard child visitation schedule for non-possessory parents includes the first, third and fifth weekends of the month, Friday through Sunday, and Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Holidays may be split evenly between both parents.

An extended standard visitation option may be available to non-custodial parents seeking additional time with the children. This schedule provides the non-possessory parent with child visitation from Thursday when school releases to Friday morning when school resumes and the first, third and fifth weekends, beginning on Friday at the time school is released until Monday morning at the time school resumes. With the extended plan, the non-custodial parent has the children 40 percent of the time while the patent with primary possession has custody of the children 60 percent of the time.

When choosing a visitation schedule, the non-possessory parent may choose the standard or the extended schedule. In addition, the court may continue a parenting plan by the parties prior to the time the actually engage in court proceedings If the parents agree to an equal possession schedule prior to court intervention the court may continue the 50 percent split.
